Dear Loretta and family,
Jerry was an ITE International Director on the Western District Board, along with Ann Hansen and Wolf Homburger, when I was a Western District officer in the early 1990's. The best advice he gave me along the way, was to always have an odd number of voting committee members so a vote would never result in a tie. I have used, or relayed, that advice many times over the years! ITE and the transportation profession was made better because of Jerry and 'making a difference' in the lives of those he selflessly mentored.
Much love,
Jenny & Wulf Grote

To Jerry's famly, please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. It was my pleasure to work with him in the Civil Engineering Department many years ago. He was a wonderful gentleman and a fine Department Chairman. May God bless you all.

Jerry taught me everything about advising the civil engineering students when I joined the department as the first professional academic adviser in 2002. He was tough on the outside but had a huge heart for the students. His guidance was invaluable to me in my position. God bless, Jerry. I hope you can continue to do advising up in heaven!

Jerome Hall,
My mentor, colleague and advocate throughout my years in the civil engineering department. Jerome had faith in people, especially the underrepresented; without his encouragement and guidance many of us would not have persevered to become engineers. I am pleased I had the chance to thank you and let you know what you meant to me personally. My hope is to encourage and inspire others as you did for me and many other of my fellow alumni.
Sincerely,
Michael Angel Gonzalez
