Edward R. Flynn, Jr.
Edward (Ed) R. Flynn, Jr. of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Dec 14, 2017 at his home.
Ed served his country from November 1983 to March 1990 in the United States Navy with a focus on Nuclear Powered Submarines.
Ed moved to Carlsbad to began his career at WIPP in 1990 in Maintenance as a Senior Electronic Technician. He was currently an Operations Specialist in Instrumentation and Control.
Ed is survived by three daughters: Gail Flynn, Allison Flynn, and Cara Flynn. He is also survived by his father Edward Flynn, Sr., and stepmother Maureen Flynn as well as by his sisters Kathy (Flynn) McCulloch, Darra (Flynn) Gallegos, Trish (Flynn) Carrillo, Colleen (Flynn) Owens, stepsister Donna Lopez, and brother Michael Flynn. Ed is survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gail Patricia Flynn.
A celebration of life service will be held in March 2018, tentatively in Los Alamos, NM. Ed will be laid to rest beside his mother, Gail Patricia Flynn. Online condolences can be left at dentonwood.com

I remember Ed as a brilliant and talented man who was also deep, intense and sometimes mischievous! It was so sweet to have him as my first boyfriend. I always treasure my memories of him and the special place he held in my life. To his family and friends, I offer my deepest condolences.

The SUBVETS will have your family in our thoughts and prayers. There is no expiration date on the back of our dolphins and Ed, who earned his 'fish' when he qualified on USS SCAMP SSN-588, will always be remembered as a Brother of the Phin and a great Patriot.
