Chavez, Patsy
Patricia (Patsy) Chavez, age 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2017, with her family at her side.
Patsy was born on Sep. 8, 1943 in La Pintada, NM and grew up in the Santa Rosa, NM area.
She was well known for her culinary skills and served as a cook for various education institutions including APS and UNM sororities. Patsy was an active member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and along with Jeff, taught RCIA for 26 years.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Ernesto Chavez; sister, Elaine Bennett, and parents Manuel and Eloisa Apodaca.
She is survived by her sons, Ernest Chavez Jr. and spouse, Rosemary, Dennis Chavez and spouse, Diana, Jeff Chavez; granddaughters, Christina Wildau and spouse, Robert, Stephanie Chavez and fiance, Ricardo Orona and brother Milton Apodaca.
A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 7:00 pm, with visitation at 6:30pm. Mass will be celebrated by dear friend, Rev. Jack Clark Robinson, ofm, on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr SW. Interment will take place on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11:15am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM.
Pallbearers are Christina Wildau, Stephanie Chavez, Robert Wildau and Ricardo Orona.

Patsy is free. Glory to God! Working with Patsy, with others who love her, caused me to see life through a totally different lense. I imagine Patsy skipping down the rest of her path. My condolenses to family,but, I can hear her singing....
