Hollyfield, Terry Lynn Blumenshine
Terry Lynn Blumenshine Hollyfield, age 70, passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2016 in the comfort of her home while sleeping. Terry was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She was born May 14, 1946 to Clarence Blumenshine and Nancy Lila Huffman. She grew up on and around dairies that the Blumenshine family owned and operated in the North and South Valleys of Albuquerque.
Terry graduated from Rio Grande High School in 1964 with honors and then married her best friend Dan Hollyfield that same year. Terry and Dan started dating in 1960 and have been together ever since.
In the 1970's she loved to bowl and was on a league at Fiesta Lanes. She was also very good and competitive in Badminton, Ping Pong, Horseshoes, Billiards and Darts.
Later in life, Terry became an avid and excellent oil painter and a great gardner. She also loved growing flowers (especially roses) and was fond of "fluffy" animals. She had an enormous love for Shaq, her daugher and son-in-law's Siberian Husky. She also really loved playing cards, especially Texas Hold 'Em and Video Poker. Terry frequented Las Vegas, Nevada every summer for the last 15 years to visit her kids and swim and play her favorite Triple Play Video Poker Machines at Green Valley Ranch.
She was also a wonderful cook and awesome mom, a loving and dedicated wife and such a sweet friend.Terry left us too soon and will be greatly missed by her little family.
Besides her father, Terry was preceded in death by her eldest sister Janice Canham.
Terry is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dan Hollyfield of Albuquerque; her only child, daughter Stacie Wilder (Jay) of Henderson, Nevada; her mother Lila Davis of Roswell, NM; her sister Karen Blumenshine of Roswell, NM; and many nieces and nephews.
The family of Terry Hollyfield would like to thank all our family and friends for their help, compassion and sympathy during this difficult time.
Cremation has taken place.
