Montoya, Agnes J.

My heart ached. Many tears were shed. Your loss was incomprehensible. You had the knack to speak with anyone about anything, and thus, to make a new friend. You were the strength in times of adversity. You were the unconditional love that anchored me during times of need. You were the glue that held this family together. During quiet moments, I can still hear your words of encouragement and guidance. Gentleness and being a good listener were both invaluable examples to me. You were my mother, but you were also my best friend and biggest ally. There are many things that only a mother can relate to her daughter. It always made me so proud when you said "No, I only have one daughter." Understanding and fair-mindedness were qualities that I admired in you. Toughness and an iron will be remembered also. Many people were not aware of how unafraid you were of things that most people would not attempt. The guts you had! I remember how funny you could be. You had your own way of explaining and describing things. Something that was maybe not that funny by itself, all of a sudden became hilarious as you told it. You filled me with so much laughter that I was in tears. It fills me with delight to remember how happy you were when dancing. Those were good times! You never took yourself too seriously and were always able to help. You loved your family, especially your grandchildren and were always able to find the good in each one. After having children of my own, I realized just how much I learned from you. Love always takes the forefront. The memories and your love will last me forever. I sincerely hope that you are at peace and undoubtedly working to your heart's content in heaven's garden. After 20 years, I believe you would be just as feisty today as you were then, and I miss you so much. I will always be proud that I was your daughter. I love you Mama! Priscilla
