Alfred Pearce Obituary
Pearce, Alfred Richard

Alfred Richard Pearce, 88, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, July 19th, 2016 at 7:30 am. Alfred "Dick" Pearce was born in Shenango, Pennsylvania, on September 12th, 1927, later moving to, and growing up in, Newton Falls, Ohio. He was the son of Alfred Samuel and Myrtle Marie (Crum) Pearce.

His survivors are Marilyn Ann (Lewis) Pearce, his beloved wife of 67 years, along with their four children Dana (his wife, Valois), Denise (her husband, Steve), Mary, and Brad (his wife, Lorraine). He has three grandchildren: Jennifer, Shawn, and Desiree. Also, he has seven great-grandchildren: Orion, Helio, Wyatt, Colton, Travis, Drake, and Coen. He is also survived by two brothers, George and Howard Pearce, and his sister Mildred.

There will be a private family viewing on Monday, and a military service will be held in Dick's honor, at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 29th, at Daniel's Funeral Home, Vista Verde Gardens, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Dick served his country during WW II and post war starting as a Merchant Marine, at 16 years old; in the Navy in WWII, as an engine room technician; then, with the Marines, as a radio technician, after the war. Dick attended The University of Mount Union, where he earned his Bachelor's in Physics. He retired after 32 years with Hughes Aircraft Company, now Raytheon, and a career as a Physics Engineer. Dick always had a sense of humor. In the last years of his life, when in a restaurant, we would not leave the table until he would say, "Okay little Bo Peep, let's get the flock outa here!" The family feels that, after suffering from Alzheimer's for 16 years, Dick Pearce finally did just that. His mother-in-law, Mabel Lewis, whom he loved dearly, would have said, "God bless his little heart."
