Alice Marie Sampson Obituary
Sampson, Alice Marie

On April 10, 2016, Alice Sampson was reunited with her husband W.T. (Jack) Sampson one day after what would have been their 78th anniversary and two days after what would have been Jack's 100th birthday. Alice was 98 years old.

Alice is survived by her three children, Barbara Thayer, John Sampson, and Tony Sampson. In addition, Alice leaves behind seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She also leaves behind one younger sister, Lena Mae Scott.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack and her siblings, Ruth Childers and Frances Zimmerman.

Alice was a life-long resident of Colorado until relocating to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1963, where she lived out the next 53 years of her life. She had a very fulfilling life which included living two years in Tehran, Iran, and being very active with the Albuquerque Branch of the American Rose Society, winning numerous local and National awards. To know and love Alice was to know and love roses. She and Jack were also active members of the Albuquerque Garden Club and the Albuquerque Elk's Lodge.

A celebration of life and the re-uniting of Jack and Alice's ashes will be held in the summer of 2016 at Trappers Lake in Colorado. Both Jack and Alice requested their ashes be scattered together in this place of beauty in the Colorado mountains where they spent many days and weeks enjoying each other. For anyone that wants to share in saying farewell to Jack and Alice in this beautiful but out-of-the-way spot in the Colorado Rockies, contact one of the three children for specific details.
