Audrey Heim Obituary
Heim, Audrey Ann

Our beautiful

beloved mother, Audrey Ann (Goralski) Heim, age 87, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2016 in Olney, MD. Audrey was born July 19, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She is survived by her six daughters and three sons; Mary Barnes (Michael) TX, Susie Chiado (Joe) NM, Lori Forseth (Hal) MT, Tom Heim (Maureen) MD, Rick Heim (Kathy) VA, Stephanie Glover (Phil) MD, Theresa Smith (Andrew) MD, Jerry Heim (Maureen) MD, Anne Marie Dunton, ID; 33 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Richard (Dick) Heim, her parents, Stanley and Stella Goralski, her brother, Eugene Goralski, & her adopted daughter, Lillian Kennison.

Except for 3 stays in the Washington D.C area totaling 7 years, she has been a devoted New Mexican her entire adult life. She married Dick in Albuquerque in 1952, and bore her first child a year later, followed by eight more children over the next 15 years. She was a wonderful mother, excellent cook (her children still use her recipes), and devoted wife. When time permitted, Audrey loved to knit, read novels, play tennis, put together puzzles, watch her children participate in various activities, and play cards, particularly poker (she was quite the card shark). In her later years, she became an accomplished bridge player and achieved the rank of Life Master. She also loved to travel; she and Dick made many trips to visit their children, traveled throughout the US & Europe & took numerous trips to their cabin in southern Colorado.

A Rosary will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:30am followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00am at John XXIII Catholic Church, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE. Internment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless, PB & J Family Services, or to any other charity. Please visit our online guestbook for Audrey at Harry Witzke Funeral Home, Ellicott City, MD.
