Axel Kollner White

Axel Kollner White, born June 7, 1942, passed away December 24, 2017. Axel was born in

Leipzig, Germany, and his family immigrated to the

U.S. when he was 10 years old, settling in Los

Alamos, New Mexico. He graduated from UNM with a civil engineering degree. During his college years he was fondly remembered as the swim coach at the Four Hills Country Club. Axel retired as a Vice President of Chicago Bridge and Iron Company in 1996 after a 32 year worldwide career spanning Asia and the Pacific, Africa, Australia, the United Arab Emirates and Chicago, Illinois. Axel and his wife, Janelle, lived in Santa Fe for 10 years and then built and lived in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for seven years.

An original investor in Paako, Axel was a lifelong friend and business partner of Roger Cox, and they built their next home in Paako Communities in 2006.

He was an avid collector of art, loved fine mechanical objects and was an overall Renaissance man.

Axel is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Janelle. He is also survived by their many family members in Albuquerque, Palm Springs and Minnesota. His life was a gift to all those who knew and loved him.
