Phelps, Bob (Clarence)

Bob (Clarence) Phelps was a man of few words, but was wise and had a wry wit. He was much loved by all who knew him & was happiest when those around him were cared for & provided for to the very best of his ability. Bob had a generous spirit, kind heart & gentle soul. Many lives have been enriched by Bob. His strength carried him through a life of hard work until the night of his sudden passing. From technical manufacturing to drilling, contract work to helping his son work on his car, his skilled hands & analytical mind achieved much. He was proud of his service to his country. He served in the Navy for ten years during the Vietnam era.

He left his earthly body while surrounded by many who loved and respected him. They lifted his spirit into God's hands by raising their voices in song and sharing stories in celebration of his life well lived.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Cindy; children Tobe, Tyne, Larkin and Courtney; and brothers-in-law John, Rex (Janet) and Ben (Linda). He was preceded in death by his parents James Franklin Phelps and Lorraine Phelps, and Boyd and Dorothy Franklin, and brother Denny Crutchfield. He also had another brother, Roger Phelps.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 am, at Netherwood Park Church of Christ. An open reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions to his GoFundMe memorial fund would be appreciated by his family:
