Bruna Weaver Obituary
Weaver, Bruna Griego

Bruna Griego Weaver passed away February 1, 2016, in Vancouver, WA, surrounded by loving family. She was born to Manual and Luciana Griego on December 7, 1925, in Albuquerque, NM.

Bruna met Benigno Romero (passed 2005) in Albuquerque and they were married in Seattle, WA, in 1948. She was later married to Chet Weaver. Employed with the Veterans Administration in Seattle, she retired after 30 plus years of service.

Bruna was meticulous about her home and her person. She loved to entertain in her home with extended family at the holidays. Her generosity was always anticipated because it would usually involve a slice from her wonderful homemade scratch pies. She had an affection for birds, art and music. However, her true passion was ballroom dancing. In pursuit of this passion, she with her special friend and partner, Art Hillie, were able to take Albuquerque by storm with their dancing skills resulting in various public accolades and recognition.

She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Paul and Eloy, and sister, Neri. She is survived by two sisters, Selina and Nelda; her three children, Madalyn (Dan) Hutsell, Ronald Romero (both of Vancouver, WA) Barbara Romero (Marysville, WA); four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

We extend a special thank you to all family and friends for the continued love and support during these difficult times. Always remember, Bruna loved you all very much.

Services will be at Gate of Heaven Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made in Bruna's memory to: Risen Savior Catholic Church, Albuquerque, NM or the American Red Cross.
