Carol Diana Black Obituary
Black, Carol Diana

After a valiant battle with cancer, Carol Diana Black died on February 16, 2016 in Peralta, NM at the age of 69.

She leaves behind her husband, Wayne Black; her children, Susan and her husband Justin Conner, Patrick and his wife, Dana Black, JoAnn Crespin and her fiance Ysidro Najar; her mother, Dorothy Grange; her brother, Gary Grange and his wife Betty; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Carol was born in 1946 in Longmont, Colorado, to father Donald Grange and mother Dorothy Grange. In college, she excelled in all her courses. She graduated from the University of Southern Illinois with a degree in Adult Education in 1990. Carol married Wayne Black on June 11, 1966. Shortly after graduation, Wayne accepted a position as an engineer with Texas Instruments. They relocated to Dallas, Texas. Wayne later joined the Airforce and they traveled across the United States. They were able to spend five glorious years in Holland before returning to New Mexico. Carol was a driven professional with both the Girls Scouts and then H&R Block. She was devoted to helping people. Her greatest joy was Christmas time. She loved giving to others and providing joy and laughter during the holiday season. When diagnosed with cancer in 2015, she remained dedicated to helping others while still fighting her illness. She remained a brave, iron-willed woman, even throughout her final months.

Carol requested to be cremated. She stated that she wanted no memorials; her memorial would be in the kind memories of those whose lives she touched.

The family would especially like to thank Carol's caregivers for their excellent work and loving care.
