Charles Albert Franks Jr. Obituary
Franks, Charles Albert Jr. (Chuck)

Charles Albert (Chuck) Franks, Jr, age 73, died on March 8, 2016 at the home of his dear friend Marie Jo Miera. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Rosalie Franks and his sister Penny Smith. He is survived by his three children, Charles Franks lll and wife Lisa, Earl George Franks and wife Victoria, Kathleen Franks Hooper and husband Tim; and his beloved grandchildren Crosby, Luke, Max, James, Nathaniel, Noelle, Austin and Christopher. He is also survived by his sister Kathy Finley; his brother-in-law Joe Smith; nieces, Debi, Dedi, Melissa, Jennifer, Holly; nephew Chad; and his dear friend Marie Jo Miera.

One of Chuck's favorite past times was to attend his grandsons' basketball games where he always made sure the referees did their job and did it right! The players and the coaches loved him, however, we think the referees did not.

He was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on February 15, 1943 and lived in Madrid, New Mexico until he and his family moved to Albuquerque. He attended Lincoln Jr. High, Highland High School and Albuquerque High School. Chuck joined the army in 1965 and served in Vietnam for two years. He was the owner of Franks Tile Company for many years and was well respected for his integrity and the pride he took in his work. Chuck was definitely one of the good guys who loved his family dearly and will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Cremation has taken place and interment will take place in the Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
