Charlie Chavez passed away on September 1, 2017 at the age of 72. He was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. After his military duties were over, he began his career working for Western and Delta Airlines for more than forty years. During retirement in Albuquerque, Charlie enjoyed playing his guitar, playing country music and visiting the VA Dog Park.

Charlie was preceded in death by mother Victoriana Trujillo, fathers Carlos Chavez and Isidro Chavez Sr, brother Edward Chavez, sister Barbara Calderon. He is survived by two children, Chris Chavez and Curtis Chavez; sisters, Doris Sedillo, Patsy Quintana and her husband George Cathy Matinez, Arlene Portillo, Brother - Isidor Chavez Jr. Charlie is also survived by several nephews and nieces.

Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, 10:00am at Queen Heaven Parish, 5311 Phoenix Ave NE. Final burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Charlie's life with a donation to the Animal Humane New Mexico. (505) 938-7938
