Charlie P. Anaya



Charlie P. Anaya went home to be with Our Lord on January 8, 2018.

He was married to Dolores Lopez of Santa Fe, New Mexico for 63 years before her passing.

He was preceded in death by parents, Miquelita & Basilio Anaya & son, Charles G. Anaya. His siblings are Simona Davis, Fred P. Anaya, Tony Anaya, John Anaya, Isabel Garcia, Joe Anaya, all deceased, Mary Lou Salazar & Henry Anaya.

He is survived by his children, Frances (David) Pittman, Henry Anaya, Daniel Anaya, Margaret (Kevin) Kinney, Bernadette (Xavier) Tapia and Charles' wife Shelley Anaya; grandchildren are Brandon (Nathana) Anaya, Libby Anaya, Alex Anaya, Danielle Kinney, Jacqueline Tapia & Xavier Tapia.

Born in Santa Fe NM on June 4, 1928, he was raised in Stanley, NM. After high school he moved to Santa Fe and served as a City Police Officer. In 1953, he joined the NM State Police and dedicated the next 30 years to the force, retiring as a Major in 1983.

He and Dolores moved to Albquerque in 1999. His hobby was people. He loved to visit and made many friends throughout his life.

Services will be on Thursday, January 11th, 2018 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuq, NM 87114. Rosary at 9:30 a.m., mass and reception immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, he asked that donations be made to Therapeutic Living Services (a mental health Community Center), 5601 Domingo Rd NW, Albuq, NM, 87108.
