Charlie G. Rodriguez

Charlie G. Rodriguez was born in Espanola 1/10/37 and passed away on 9/28/17. He joined the NM Air National Guard after graduating from Valley High School in 1955 and served in Vietnam from 1968 -1969. Charlie was a member of the TACOS, the 188th Fighting Squadron of the Air National Guard. He earned the Bronze Star. After returning from Vietnam, Charlie received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Albuquerque while working full time & raising a family.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Teresina Sanchez Rodriguez and Efren Demetrio Rodriguez Sr.; brother, Efren Rodriguez Jr. and sister Mary Garcia. He is survived by his wife, Estefanita (Fannie) Rodriguez; son Carlos, wife Nitza & grandson Galeano Rodriguez of Chicago; daughter Jacqueline and grandson Miguel Rodriguez of Arlington, VA; daughter Christina Rodriguez-Engel, husband Jason & grandchildren, Samantha Verdeja (Alfonso), Leticia Leyva, Chelsea Engel, and Rico Leyva Jr. of Rio Rancho; son James Farmer, wife Linda and granddaughter, Annie Farmer Campbell (Ryan) of Espanola; son Kenneth Farmer, wife Cindy Lovato-Farmer & granddaughter, Mary Lynn of Albuquerque; daughter Lynn Dickison of Rio Rancho; and great-granddaughter, Madeleine Verdeja; brothers, Orlando Rodriguez, Willie Rodriguez (wife Bessie), sister Esther Chavez, sister-in-law Corita (Cora) Rodriguez, numerous nieces & nephews & the mother of his children, Rose Marie Atencio Rodriguez.

Charlie will be remembered for his joy of traveling, dancing, and having a glass of wine (or two). Funeral service will take place on Thursday, 10/5/17 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas in Rio Rancho.
