Clovis Herrera





Clovis Herrera, Albuquerque native passed away on October 3, 2017. He is preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla, and his brother, Robert. He is survived by his son, Jerry (Carol), and daughter, June (Terry), grandchildren Jennifer (Mark), Ryan, Krista (Mike) and Jeff, and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas & Jonathan.

Clovis enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1949 and served as a combat engineer in the Korean War. In 1960 he was elected to the NM State Legislature, where he served for six years and sponsored 33 pieces of legislation. He also served two terms as Valencia County Assessor.

The family will hold a private burial on October 7. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kindred Hospice Foundation, 3350 Riverwood Parkway, Ste. 1400, Atlanta, Ga., 30339.
