Herrera, Clyde A.

1946-2017

Clyde A. Herrera, a resident of Los Lunas, New Mexico, was called home on Saturday, April 8, 2017. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, New Mexico. Clyde retired as Captain from Central NM Correctional Facility after 25 years. Clyde's favorite pastime was hunting with his son, brothers and nephews. He was a devoted husband, who loved and cared for his wife very deeply. A loving father who had two beautiful children that he admired, loved and cared for tremendously. All his grandchildren called him "Grumpy" because he wanted to be called Grumpy. He loved to teach, play and laugh with them. He is preceded in death by his father, Jose C. Herrera; and a beloved nephew, Moises Herrera. Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Eva Herrera; son, Marco Antonio Herrera and wife Angela; daughter, Angela Romero and husband Ron; grandchildren, Alejandra Herrera, Antonio Herrera, Angelica Romero, and Jaylynn Romero; mother, Mollie Herrera; brothers, Ronnie Herrera and wife Virginia, Joseph Herrera, Carlos Herrera, and Patrick Herrera; sister, Loyola Herrera; as well as many loving nephews, nieces and friends.

All services will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A Public Viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Valencia Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joey Herrera, Ronald Herrera, Moe Romero, Benjamin Aragon, Jimmy Montoya, and Antonio Manual Herrera. Thank you to family and friends for all their loving support during our time of need.
