Connie Kay Stephens, passed away at her home in Montrose, CO on Christmas morning, 2016, after a long and courageous battle against cancer.

She was born February 26, 1952 in Albuquerque, NM. She graduated from Manzano High School in 1970 and received an X-Ray Technician Certificate from UNM two years later. She moved to Los Alamos in 1973 where she worked at LAMC. In 1981, she was hired by Los Alamos National Laboratory as a radiation Protection Technician and retired from there in 1998.

Connie enjoyed her pets & numerous trips to Yellowstone with her long time partner, Ted Newlin. They moved to Montrose in 2008.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Minnie Stephens.

She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Winkler (Mark) of Albuquerque, NM and her daughter Kimberly Ziehl (Clint) of Lake Jackson, TX. She is also survived by one niece, Alana Winkler Williamson (Jimmy) and a great-niece and great-nephew, Aliece and Ashton Williamson, all of Albuquerque.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 2:30 at Heights First Church of the Nazarene, 8401 Paseo del Norte NE. Memorial contributions may be made to Montrose Hospice, Hope West, 725 S. 4th St., Montrose, CO or to a .
