Daniel Kuhstoss Obituary

Daniel John Kuhstoss

With great sadness, the family of Daniel John Kuhstoss announces his sudden passing of natural causes on Saturday, December 20, 2017 in Chicago, Illinois at the age of 52. Daniel was born in Gainesville, Florida on March 5, 1965 to Mary Leuang (nee Krueger) and Wayne Donnelly. He was adopted by Charles Frederick Kuhstoss (Fred) in 1970 after his marriage to Mary. He grew up in Austin, Texas, moved to San Francisco, California and later to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Dan was a skilled carpenter, electrician and plumber, and held an EMT certification. He was an accomplished martial arts practitioner with a specialty in sword play. In addition, he had a passion for remote controlled models, having many airplanes, cars and boats. Daniel was well read, with a wide range of subjects, especially science fiction. His appreciation of all kinds of music included occasionally playing his cello.

His passion for nature, the earth and the sky included hunting and fishing. He loved the outdoors, especially the West Mesa outside Albuquerque.

He is now one with the earth, one with the sky, one with eternity, under God's eye.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Leuang of Albuquerque; his father, Fred (wife Glenda), of Douglasville, Georgia; and his birth father, Wayne Donnelly of Chicago, Illinois. He is also survived by girlfriend, Tylena Talbott; brothers, Christopher and Donovan Kuhstoss; aunts and uncles, Teresa Kuhstoss, Joan Thompson, Debbie and Stuart Kuhstoss, Fred and Howard Krueger; and a host of other relatives.

Daniel, I think of you often. I still have the memories. We loved and lived life to the fullest, so many years ago.

It was 41 years ago, and I remember like it was last week. We were brothers for a long summer. Ran, swam, bicycled, talked of life, of the future, and of right and wrong. We challenged each other's intellect, and brought out the creativity in each other. I'm so sorry all those years flew by without us getting to see each other. I know in adulthood we would have been kindreds spirits as well.
