Darius Grayhall Obituary

Grayhall, Darius Hedeon Connor

Darius Hedeon Connor Grayhall put up a terrific fight against aplastic anemia/MDS before succumbing to sepsis and pneumonia on August 11, 2017 at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque. He was diagnosed at the age of 15 and, despite multiple setbacks and failures to get needed treatment, he always remained positive and determined to keep going. He attended college in pursuit of the digital arts, which he shared much of on Deviant Art. In the future, he was hoping to study genetics.

He loved animals, foxes most of all, and enjoyed reading, gaming and watching anime. He hoped to travel to Japan, someday. He was a big fan of role-playing and was part of a few communities online. There, he made many close friends with whom he shared mutual support through life's hard times.

He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his brother, Orenda Grayhall, his half-siblings, Tesla and Jared Gray, his mother, Kimberly S Hall, and his grandfather, Douglas Hall.

For those who believe it's possible, he promises to be back. Keep your eyes open for his unique self.

I think of you still very often. There isn't a day where I don't think of the conversations we could have had and never will... I miss you.

Hey Darius...sorry that I took so long to write something in here. But...that's how I tend to handle issues like this...sadly enough. I wanna let you know, I refuse to let you be forgotten. Your more to me then just some guy I knew online, to this day I mourn you. But I manage to live.

Lots of things happened over the year and half...I made new friends, one really great one. He goes by James. I managed to find a group chat I won't just be silent in...roleplaying itself had hit a spot where I only really do it in small cases with people I know. Merely using DA to chat.

I haven't handled loosing you the best, but...That's what being human, human on the inside is like, right? If your a vulpix up there, do a me a favour, and learn some really sick fire tricks alright?

We didn't really know each other. We didn't even talk that much. But when we did, I learned every time something new, not just about you, but also about life.
You changed my sight of the world, Darius. I wish you to be happy now, wherever you are, because after so many hardships I can't imagine, you deserved it.

It is extremely painful to hear of someone passing, more so when it is an individual who had so much potential and had such a positive impact on the lives of many.

While I may have never known you personally,Darius,I have witnessed the effects of your positive and outgoing spirit in those who knew you.Perhaps one day,by some grace,I could be granted the privilege of knowing you.

I am more than grateful to have called you my friend. You were always there when we had a problem and you were always in your silly, happy attitude even when things got difficult. I really hope you're doing well up there in your next adventure. Hopefully one day we will see each other again. Thank you for being an amazing friend.

Yes, I know Darius, you are looking at me typing this from the other side... And you don't want me to miss you... You want me to turn the page and shrug off the loss so i can go on with life without sheding another tear.

But i will... I will miss you Darius.
We will meet again friend, in this other world were illness and sickness are nothing more than words.

I didn't know you very well - we had talked a few times before this had happened. What I had heard about you as a person, however, inspired me. I never really got the chance to know you very well, but if I had a second chance, I'd be a closer friend to you. You sounded like such a wonderful individual.

With you as my witness in Heaven, I promise. I promise to live my life to the fullest, to work hard, to push through and do more with myself than I ever thought possible.

I hope you find your way in Heaven. And wait for all of us. I'll meet you one day, Darius.

Your light was brighter than a room would ever shine. You were a hope, an inspiration, to many people. I want you to know that despite the fine you may be gone, your smile and your happiness will live on with your friends and your family; you taught us how to live freely without the hint of doubt and fear. To feel like it's okay that, no matter what happens in life, keep moving forward. You will forever remain in our hearts and will stay sealed in the gates of heaven as one of the strongest young men who ever set foot on this planet. Don't get lost in heaven, for your wings have not been clipped. Never will they be, Darius. I love you so much.

My deepest sympathy goes out to your family. I will truly miss his smile everyday, and him trying to get me to watch (Angel Beats) some anime that he thought i would like, though he would laugh at me because, i would tell him, Darius i didn't have time to watch it, maybe tonight or this weekend i would say. His smile and kind eyes will always be remembered.

Words can only go so far describing what a person meant to you. I doubt I could ever say enough to honor your memory. You were a close friend, one of the few that kept me going through a few rough patches, and I'm stronger today because of you. No matter what was going on with you, you made time to talk with me, with your friends. You were the most optimistic person I knew, and your positivity definitely rubbed off on me a bit. I have to thank you for everything, for the good memories, for pushing me on my writing, for pulling me out of a few dark places. I wish we would have had more time together, to resolve some of the things we had going on, but I'll always cherish the time we did have. I'm going to write more for you in the future, the stuff we did is going to continue on. I know somewhere, somehow, you'll be looking over my shoulder, and the shoulders of everyone who cares about you.
I hope you have a peaceful rest. I'll see you again someday.

Darius... You were one of my closest and dearest friends.
You've taught me a lot in the years that we knew each other, and your optimism when facing any situation is simply inspiring. You were by far the strongest person I knew, even in your condition, no matter what was wrong, you managed to keep a smile, and managed to have an upbeat personality.
Words cannot describe how much as a friend you meant to me. You've given me so many nice memories, you've helped improve my writing. I will cherish these memories for as long as I live.
Rest well, Darius...
I'd like to imagine you're a golden Vulpix, having an adventure of your own right now, in a different world.

Goofy Darius.
