Roth, Dionisia (Denise) Mallet

Dionisia (Denise) Mallet Roth passed away on August 7, 2016 at the age of 85, following a long battle with cancer.

She was the daughter of renowned Beaux-arts Franco-Argentine architect Gaston Mallet and his wife, Elisabeth Tonin.

A resident of Albuquerque since 1957, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Instituto Nacional del Profesorado Secundario in Buenos Aires, later earning a master of arts from the University of New Mexico. She pursued a career in accounting from 1976 until her retirement in 1989 working for several local concerns, including the Democratic Party of New Mexico. She also volunteered many hours of her time to the Democratic Party, the Bernalillo County Democratic Party, and the Bernalillo County Democratic Women, for whom she served one term as secretary.

She was a devoted mother whose vocation was to ensure that her children should have the education and personal strengths necessary to lead successful adult lives.

In retirement, she enjoyed varied interests including history, archaeology, genealogy, travel, gardening, and investment economics. She was a member of Argentinos en New Mexico.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Allen Roth.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Louis and Anne Roth of Texas, Michelle and the Rev. Sean Manchester of Rhode Island, and Frank Roth and Debbie Stover of Albuquerque, and by her longtime friend Arthur Gonzales.

Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens after a private graveside service. Donations to the Good Shepherd Center of Albuquerque in lieu of flowers will be appreciated.
