Hammond, Dorothy H.

Dorothy Hammond passed 3/7/2016 from lung cancer. She was born in Denver, CO 8/9/36 and grew up in Alamosa, CO. and Pojoaque, Los Alamos and Santa Fe, NM.

She is survived by her husband, George Boyce; and children John Billingsley and Susie Davis.

She worked in Phoenix in early years for Empire Dog and Horse racing tracks. After returning to Santa Fe she worked for Avis, a bowling alley, for Phil Naumberg Sr., Mayflower, sold furniture, was a women's state prison guard, bookkeeper for the district attorney, bookkeeper for Columbia Pictures, founder of The Burrito Company restaurant and a number of years owned Western Grass. She retired in Pena Blanca where she was involved in many community projects. In Santa Fe she was a member of the stamp club and Iris Society. She will be missed by many friends and a husband who no longer has a boss.
