Magirl, Dorothy Mullani

Dorothy Rice Young was born March 17, 1925, in Langeloth, Pennsylvania, to Rice Douglas Young and Florence Leota Strimple Young. Her father died soon after, and her mother married William Mullani, who adopted Dorothy.

Later in life she spent many years volunteering in the surgery center at St. Joseph Hospital in Albuquerque.

She was an avid reader and had many friends with whom she enjoyed playing bridge. She spent her last years at Handmaker Jewish Services in Tucson, cared for by the loving staff in the Tynan Memory Care unit.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Robert; two sons, Michael and Kevin; and her granddaughter Kyna Winborne.

She is survived by her children Mary and husband David Schwindt, Catherine Miller, Patrick and wife Lynda, Christopher and wife Kathy McMahon; 15 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many relatives of her husband, Robert.

Services will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on June 10, 2017, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church chapel; rosary at 9:00 AM and mass at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
