Dulcinea (Dulcie) G. Silvas passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the age of 89 years after a long battle with dementia. She was born in Albuquerque to Nicolas and Guadalupe Gurule on September 30, 1927. Dulcie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years Reymundo, her parents, siblings and other family members.

She is survived by her daughters, Louise Lucero (Eddie), Cynthia Martinez (Paul) and son Nick Silvas; grandchildren Miguel Lucero (Jerri Lynn), Marialuisa Arnold (James), Diego Lucero (Alexis), Nick Silvas Jr., Raymond Martinez (Janaska), and Samantha Martinez; and her great-grandchildren Monique Silvas, Sundara and Ronin Martinez, Jonahs and Austin Arnold, two sisters, Daisy and Rosemary, her beloved god-daughter Becky Martinez and many nieces and nephews.

In her early years she worked at Woolworth, and with her husband Reymundo at Berlands Shoe Store. She took great pride in being an excellent cook and in taking care of her grandchildren. Dulcie was very active at St. Therese Little Flower Church. She was a member of SNMDP #2 of Alameda, New Mexico and of the American Legion Post 69. She was also a cancer survivor.

A Rosary will be recited in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW. on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Therese Little Flower Church, 300 Mildred Avenue NW on Friday, June 2, at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
