Born May 10, 1926 in San Francisco, CA to Dr. Edwin Louis and Marian Kergan Bruck, and passed away peacefully on December 4th in Tucson, AZ.

Kergan graduated from UC, Berkeley in 1951 with a degree in civil engineering. He worked for Bechtel Corporation for over 25 years and had the good fortune to live and work in countries all over the world, including South Africa, Australia and England.

Kergan was a WWII veteran, and avid sailor, photographer and clay target shooter. He had a passion for family history, compiling volumes of genealogical research, and was a member of the Society of California Pioneers. He was a direct descendent of Dr. Edward Turner Bale of the Bale Grist Mill and Rancho Carne Humana prominence in the Napa Valley.

A memorial service and interment will be held at the family plot at the St. Helena Public Cemetery on May 13th followed by a gathering at the Tucker Farm Center to celebrate and share remembrances of Kergan's life. If you plan on attending, please confirm via email to [email protected]

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local Public Broadcasting Service or Casa de la Luz Hospice of Tucson.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; son Peter (Rebecca); daughter Trish (Al); granddaughter Jessica (David) and great-granddaughter, Antonia; grandson, Josh; sister, Meredith (Dave); former wife, Patricia, the mother of their children; stepson, Fred (Zon); step-granddaughters, Camille (Chris) and Claire (Peter) and his step-great granddaughter, Edith.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann, and son, Laurin.
