Elnora P. Hilger passed away at the age of 94 on April 2, 2016. She was born on November 28, 1921 in Kansas City, Missouri to Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Pryor. In 1933 the family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Elnora graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1938 and attended the University of New Mexico for two years before marrying her husband John F. Hilger in 1941. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1991. Elnora worked for the Albuquerque Public School District as an executive secretary at Rio Grande High School, Jefferson Jr. High School, Sandia High School and the East Area Superintendents Office from 1960 to 1978. She volunteered her time and heart as a Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church in Albuquerque, a PTA President, and the Grand Guardian of the State of New Mexico's International Order of Job's Daughters from 1967-1968. After retirement John and Elnora volunteered for Meals on Wheels and she and her sister donated time and love to the Pantry of Highland Baptist Church. She moved to Sparks, Nevada in 2006 to live with her daughter & son-in-law. Elnora spent her final year at MorningStar of Sparks, living in the Reflections Wing.

The family wishes to thank the staff of MorningStar for their love and kindness.

Elnora was preceded in death by her parents S.E.L. and Lucinda Pryor, her sister Virginia Pryor and her loving husband John.

Survivors include son Gerald Hilger and his wife Carla of Grand Haven, MI; daughter Carolyn and her husband Lonnie Pippin of Sparks, NV; grandchildren Walt Hilger (Joanne) of Natick, MA, Suzanne Biesler (Jeff) of Lexington NE, Stacey Schnacker (Cory) of Kearney, NE, and Laura Thorpe, Jon Pippin, Pat Pippin (Amanda), Ken Pippin, Lucinda deProsse (Evan) all of Sparks, NV; thirteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held July 12th, 10:30 am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, New Mexico. Donations in Elnora's name may be sent to Noon Day Ministries, P.O.Box 25451, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87125.
