Ernest Aragon



Ernest Aragon, 83, of Albuquerque passed away January 23, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen Aragon; children, Andrea Aragon and Anissa Aragon-Chavez and her husband Paul Chavez; grandsons, Jonathan and Michael Chavez. He is also survived by two sisters, Flora Archuleta and Olivia Partido; brother Chris Aragon; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

Ernest was born in Cuba, New Mexico on December 28, 1934. He moved to Albuquerque as a young man and began working for the City of Albuquerque. He served as the superintendent of the Street Maintenance Department. He retired from the city after 32 years of service. Ernest was a charter member of the Rio Grande Credit Union. Ernest was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Parish for 53 years, serving 40 years as an usher at 11:30 mass. He was a charter member of the Carl Hammer Knights of Columbus.

A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Church on 811 Guaymas Pl. NE on Friday, February 2, 2018. A visitation will begin at 10:00 am, with a rosary to be recited at 10:30 am and the funeral mass to be celebrated at 11:00 am. The interment will take place after at Gate of Heaven.
