Eugenia L. Rogers entered into rest on February 19, 2016.

She was born and raised in Carrizozo, NM and moved to Albuquerque in 1947. In 1982 she moved to Liberal , KS where she lived for 23 years before returning to Albuquerque.

Eugenia was a people person and loved being involved in any activity where she could be helpful. She worked as a cashier for Safeway before moving to Liberal. In Liberal, she found her calling. She volunteered to help at the Salvation Army Thrift Store and at the Mexican American Ministries which later became the United Methodist Care Center and Clinic. She provided assistance with immigration applications and with fund raising. Eugenia would solicit funds, furniture and food for the program in order to fulfill the needs of their clients. Eugenia also worked as an interpreter for the Liberal courts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sally and Phil Lopez; two brothers, Phil Jr. and David; three sisters, Bernice, Esther and Maria; her daughter, Helen; son, Leroy and grandson, James.

Eugenia is survived by her daughters, Bernice Gutierrez (Toby) and Therese Perea; sons, Frank Perea (Betty), Gilbert Perea (Susan) and Robert Perea as well as ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A Memorial Service will be held at Northdale Baptist Church, 123 Osuna Rd NW where Eugenia was a faithful member, on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Services will be officiated by Pastor Mike Hay.
