Evelyn (Puddy) Ann Thurston Davis


Evelyn (Puddy) Ann Thurston Davis left her home in Rio Rancho, NM on Thursday Sept 14, 2017 to join her family in heaven.

Evelyn was the youngest of six children born to William L and Anna S Thurston of Aztec, NM.

She was raised in Aztec and graduated from Aztec High in 1944. She remained good friends with all of her graduating class throughout the years. It was in school that one of her classmates decided they should all have nicknames and she became Puddy to many friends.

Evelyn attended UNM for a brief time before returning to Aztec and starting a family. She worked for many years at Farmington Drug and then later as a traveling cosmetics sales representative for Southwestern Drug. After many years on the road she married her second husband and began a new chapter in her life.

Evelyn enjoyed crafting, traveling the world, becoming a master gardener, all animals, and her family and friends.

Evelyn is proceeded in death by her parents William and Anna Thurston; husband, Jack Davis; sisters Neva Palmer, Willa Thurston, Marie Thurston, and Pearl Watson, brother Dick Thurston, son Gerald Rogers, step-son Randy Davis, and granddaughter Crystal Kimber.

Evelyn is survived by her sons James Rogers, Johnny Rogers, grandchildren Jymi Rogers, John Rogers, Jesse Rogers, Gerrad Rogers, Frankie Underwood, and Angela Davis, great grandchildren Caity Rogers, Rachel Kimber, Alex (Kate) Kimber, Candy Kimber, Josiah Rogers, Shyla Rogers, Hailey Underwood, Kaitlin Davis, Terrance Underwood, Dallas Underwood, Gavin Rogers, Delaney Rogers, and Boston Rogers.

There will be remembrance of life for Evelyn on Wednesday September 20, 2017 at the Farmington, NM Elks Lodge (801 Municipal Dr) at 2pm.

The family is requesting that in leu of flowers that people make a donation to their local animal shelter.
