Frances passed away in Phoenix, Arizona on December 25, 2015. She was born to Robert Wesley and Frances Bell Wyatt in Sabinal, Texas on February 23, 1923. She graduated from Sabinal High School and Texas State College for Women before enlisting in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She was a dietitian in Galley 89 at the Destroyer Base in San Diego, California during the war. After the war, she returned to TSCW and received a Master's Degree. She was a dietitian in hospitals in San Antonio, Houston, Jackson, TN and Albuquerque, NM.

She married Ralph E. Brookshier in Albuquerque on July 3, 1963, who preceded her in death. She is survived by one brother, Jesse Wyatt of Phoenix; a niece, Carol Thatcher of Chandler, Arizona; a nephew, Scott Wyatt of Niles, Ohio; three great-nieces; one great-great-nephew and twin great-great-nieces; a stepdaughter, Charlotte Wilson of Albuquerque; three step-grandchildren, Vicki Brittain, Jeannie Saunders and James Wilson.

After retirement she lived in El Paso and San Antonio where she was active in the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the Waves Association. She was a member of the Caddel-Smith Chapter of DRT in Uvalde and served on the State Board of Management of DRT.

Frances' ashes will be buried at a later date in the Sabinal, Texas Cemetery. Per her wishes, there will be no service. Visit hansenmortuary.com for condolences.
