Frances Padilla

Frances Padilla, age 97, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017. When Frances was just nine months old her parents, Lionisio and Juana Santiago came to America along with several brothers and sisters. Her parents purchased a home that is located on Garfield SE in Albuquerque. Frances lived on Garfield for 97 years. She worked at the Exelcelsor laundry, where she was introduced to her husband, Ernest Padilla. Her husband enlisted in the army and took a leave of absence to come back and marry Frances. She bought a house and continued to work and saved enough money to furnish the house so her husband would have his home when he returned. She became a U.S. citizen on June 27, 1987 at the age of 68. She was a school lunch lady and worked continually throughout her life in many different trades. Frances was the catalyst in bringing the holy spirit to her family.
