Francisco H. Lucero



Francisco H. Lucero, "Conke," 83, born October 11, 1934 in Albuquerque's Santa Barbara neighborhood to Roman H. and Carmen Lucero, passed away January 21, 2018 in San Antonio TX. He attended Albuquerque High School before enlisting and serving in the US Air Force. After completing his Air Force commitment he reenlisted in the US Army and continued to serve until he was seriously injured in the line of duty. His journey to recovery included much rehabilitation and time at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio where he would later decide to retire. He earned his Associate's Degree from TVI and Bachelor's from University of Albuquerque.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Marty; his four children, Garry, Mark, Katrina, and Terri; his grandchildren, Rita, Jared, Joel, Jesse, Danielle; and his great-grandchildren, Trent, Danica, Dax, and Urijah. He is also survived by his two sisters, Emily Chavez and Theresa Sandoval; their families; and many in his extended Lucero family that he cared about and enjoyed visiting so much. He also leaves Marty's supportive daughters and her grandchildren in Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Richard G. Lucero.

Military burial and service will be held February 9, 2018, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.
