Garner Franklin Parker Obituary
Parker, Garner Franklin

Garner Franklin Parker, age 75, was called home by our Lord on July 3, 2016.

He is survived by his loving wife Trudy; beloved grandchildren Jack and Marina; stepdaughter Maggie Gleeson and husband, Bill of Lone Tree, CO; sister Lavita Broadhurst of Dallas, TX; brother-in-law Alexander Bazan and family; and Trudy's aunt Sylvia Apodaca.

He was born in Dallas, TX and grew up in Irving, of which he would emphatically say was the "Home of the Dallas Cowboys." He was an avid fan for 38 years. He served his country in the US Navy, stationed in Guam in 1958. Garner loved the 1950's when Elvis was king and hot rods were cool. He had quite a collection of fifties memorabilia and music. He retired from Solar Turbines Inc., a Caterpillar Co. in De Soto, TX. After retirement he attended Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, OK, graduated in 1994. He met Trudy there and they were married in Tulsa. He was an excellent Bible teacher. He especially loved to teach the children. He loved children and seeing them really made his day. Everywhere he went he would stop and say "Hi" to a child or look at a baby and talk to the parents. He dearly loved Jack and Marina.

Service of Christian Burial on July 26, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity Church, 9502 4th St NW. Inurnment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery on July 28, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. with military honors.
