Garry Rhoads Boyd passed away after a long battle with dementia on Friday, June 9th, 2017 at his home in Albuquerque, NM.

Garry was born March 17th, 1948 in Carlsbad, NM to Edgar and Willie Mae (Williams) Boyd of Carlsbad, NM.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Kathy Boyd (Mears); his three daughters Stephanie Boyd-Cammann, Jennifer Boyd, Shawnna Boyd; and his four grandchildren; Joshua Boyd, Autumn Boyd, Jesse Cammann and Gene Corley.

Garry joined the United States Marine Corps when he was 18 years old, and was stationed in Cherry Point, NC. He was in the Marines from 1968-1972, then again from 1976-1978 and then began his career as a civil servant. Garry arrived at Kirtland Air Force Base as a Jet Engine Mechanic for the 1550 FMS. He supported the following aircraft: C 130 Aircraft, H 3, MH 53, Uh 1N Helicopters. Garry also was foreman of the 58th Test Cell Facilities where he was responsible for seven different models of jet engines. He retired from Kirkland Air Force Base on July 3rd, 2003.

Services will be Thursday, July 20th 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at 12400 Skyline Rd at the rec hall. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
