Roberts, Gary P.

Gary P. Roberts, passed away on Thursday, the 12th of January 2017, in Carlsbad, California. He was 64 years of age. He was born on the 24th of February 1952, in Manhattan, Kansas, to Mary Ann (Lehman) & Earl Roberts.

He graduated from the University of New Mexico with Bachelors in Economics in 1986. He was a manager at Mama Mia's Restaurant, Danby's Night Club and Airborne Express. He was a pitcher in fast pitch softball for 15 years.

Gary started working at Quintiles in March of 1999 in the Facilities Department. After three years as a Facilities associate he moved into the Clinical Trail Assistants role for five years, before he became a Clinical Research Associate in 2007. Gary worked with countless teams and in multiple therapeutic areas at Quintiles. What he enjoyed most about his job was mentoring others and passing on his knowledge and expertise. In 2016 he went out with at least eighteen clinical researches. Colleagues will remember him by always ready to lend a helping hand with efficiency and a smile on his face. He was an avid, patient golfer & competed in the Southern California Golfers Association amateur tournaments & won several. He enjoyed working on projects around his home. Due to his career with Quintiles he was able to travel extensively, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Norton; and his sister, Diane Kathleen Roberts. He is survived by his father, Earl Roberts; and his wife Michele O'Brien.

Memorial services have taken place. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in his name be directed to the Houston SPCA, 900 Portway Dr., Houston, Texas 77024 or to the San Diego Humane Society & SPCA, 5500 Gaines St., San Diego, CA 92110.

He will be sorely missed by all his family, together with his sly sense of humor
