Gayle Kathy Louisiana

Adventurer Gayle Kathy Louisiana, born in Minnesota, October 19th, 1943, last Friday completed her life's journey, surrounded by her children and loved ones, in Anchorage, Alaska. Whether alone, as a flight attendant with United Airlines, or in the company of her family and the friends she made everywhere, Gayle circumnavigated the world with curiosity and delight. A patron of the arts, a collector, a beautiful singer and admirer of music, she was the greatest of audiences for a concert. She loved the good food, hot spices, vistas, distances and colors of New Mexico. She told stories that would make you gasp, laugh and wonder - and she had a lot of them. A constant and intrepid traveler, she also loved returning home. Strong, independent, and free-spirited, she lived life on her own terms, with a joyful and optimistic stubbornness that not even ALS could defeat. Gayle is survived by sons, Dutch and Charlie; daughters-in-law, Lisa and Megan; grandchildren, Henry, Ethan, Lucca and Dawson; brothers, Duane, Terry and Jim; and many dear friends who will remember her as the most gracious of hosts, the most enthusiastic of bon vivants, and the best of travelling companions. There will be a celebration of life in the coming months with friends and music in Albuquerque, details TBA. Gayle's family asks that anyone wishing to make a contribution in her memory donate to the ALS Therapy Development Institute, 300 Technology Square, Suite 400, Cambridge, MA 02139 or
