Geraldine (Gerry) Marchello

Geraldine (Gerry) Marchello went to be with the Lord on Sunday January 7th 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Geraldine was born January 1, 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Francis Sandoval of Albuquerque.

Gerry is survived by two sons, William (Rosa, who took care of Gerry 24-7) Marchello of Espanola, Andrew (Renee) Marchello of Albuquerque, one daughter Jessica Marchello of Espanola. Gerry is survived by two brothers, Ray (Virgie) Sandoval of Espanola, Anthony (Olivia) Sandoval of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, many nieces & nephews. Gerry is also survived by two close cousins who grew up as her brothers, Vivian & Joseph Saavedra of Albuq.

Gerry was born and raised in Albuquerque, San Jose area. She was a 1969 Albuquerque High School graduate. Gerry moved to Espanola in 1995 to work at Center Market as the head baker and retired in 2015 when her brother sold the store. Gerry had the good fortune of traveling the world to places such as Germany, Italy and Hawaii. She loved telling the story of meeting her one true love, Smokey Robinson. She had a back stage pass where she took her picture with Smokey and he kissed her on the cheek. Gerry loved to sew, knit, crochet and loved word find puzzles. She was a wonderful cook. Gerry's whole heart was always for her family! She'll be greatly missed.
