1924-2015



Glenn E. Morehouse, age 91, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and worked 25 years at Sandia Lab as an electronic technician. Glenn was a 4-H leader and loved farming. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing his fiddle and being on stage entertaining people. Glenn was a part of the old time fiddlers association, and judged many fiddle contests and won numerous trophies playing the fiddle. He and his wife organized the New Mexico State Fair and many other contests throughout the southwest. Glenn loved a good game of poker with his family and would never turn down a day of fishing, camping, dancing, or tinkering in his shop. He had many talents, and was a wonderful father and husband, and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Elmer Morehouse; sister, Evelyn Howard; and brother, Marlin Morehouse and wife, Lillie. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Ira Morehouse; daughters, Karen and husband, Alford Kingston Glenna and husband, Chuck Roberts; grandchildren, Kristy Sweeney and husband, Andrew, Justin Prieto and wife, Blanca, and Dalton Roberts; and great-grandchildren, Glenn, Ashly, Thomas and Andrew. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

All services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Mount Calvary Cemetery Chapel with a viewing beginning at 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Richard Garcia officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Chuck Robert, Dalton Roberts, Andrew Sweeney, Glenn Flores, Alford Kingston, and Alan Balok. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Howard, and Justin Prieto.
