Bill, age 85, passed away on Friday April 1, 2016. He was born in Silverton, Colorado July 3, 1930. He grew up in Montrose, Colorado. He moved to Albuquerque and attended Albuquerque High School and graduated in 1947. Bill then went to the United States Army for four years. He then returned to Albuquerque and started his business.

He was a very well-known man in Albuquerque. He owned and operated Supreme Bedding Manufacturers for over 55 years. To many people he was known as "the mattress man". He thrived on his business and it was his pride and joy. He built the mattresses from the ground up. Supreme Bedding was BILL LAURSEN. He sold to many furniture stores in NM and across six states as well. His mattresses were on The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. He was the man to see for a mattress in this state. He was always known to be involved in everything from coaching his children's soccer and baseball games to being very active in the racehorse community. At one time he and his son Billy had over 30 horses and spent his weekends at Albuquerque Downs and many racetrack across the United States

He is survived by his wife Janice Emery; and four wonderful children; his son William P. Laursen and wife Jacque Laursen, Gordon Michael Laursen and wife Veronica Laursen, daughter Jaonne Laursen-Garcia and spouse Valentin Garcia and son Eric Laursen. He also had six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Family Worship, 6500 Hanover Rd. NW, Albuqueque, NM 87121.
