Burton, Harold "Tracey"

Harold "Tracey" Burton, 81, of Albuquerque, NM beloved father, husband and brother died on September 30, 2016 of heart failure. He was born in Eddy county New Mexico to Othwold "Art" Burton and Carolyn DeChamp Burton.

Tracey served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict as an aviation structural mechanic stationed in Hawaii. After the Navy he entered a lifelong career in home building. He was instrumental in establishing the Lincoln County Home Builders Association and served as President. He also served on the board of directors of the National Association of Home Builders. Tracey loved spending time with his family, whether fly fishing on the Conejos River in Colorado or taking weekend road trips throughout New Mexico.

After his retirement Tracey enjoyed playing bingo and helping at the Manzano Mesa senior center.

Tracey was preceded in death by his wife Suzy Burton and son Mike Burton. He is survived by daughter Stacey Burton, son Ronald Burton and wife Deborah; grandsons Simon and Alex McQuade; great- grandson Jude Montoya (all of Albuquerque, NM); his brother James Burton of Zapata, TX; several nieces and nephews, and his long time devoted friend Ruth Bowen of Albuquerque, NM.

Services will be held on October 7, 2016 at 10:00 am at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel, 225 San Mateo Blvd. NE in Albuquerque, NM. Interment will be held October 10, 2016 at 1:30 pm at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation in his name.
