Ingui, Harriett Louise (Chapman)

Harriett Louise (Chapman) Ingui, loving wife and mother, passed away at home in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 96 on January 28, 2017. Harriett was born December 27, 1920 in Manchester, New Hampshire to James and Etta (McIntire) Chapman. She married her husband of 64 years, Thomas Ingui, in 1944. Harriett was a loyal military wife throughout Thomas' 20 year career and followed him to Japan in 1948 and Germany in 1954 by boat with their two small daughters in order to maintain her family. She remained a homemaker until her children started college and then worked outside the home to assist them in paying for their advanced education. Our mother will be remembered for her sense of humor, style and an inner fortitude that enabled her to overcome many obstacles.

She was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 2006, her parents, five older brothers (James, Ray, Arthur, Gerald, Webster) and her loving sister Elaine (Chapman) Gilman.

She is survived by her two daughters: Sharon Ann (Ingui) Scheetz of Riegelsville, PA and Bette Jean Ingui of Alb, NM.
