Helen Emma (Mayer, Coulson) Kuiken passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in Albuquerque at the age of 100. Born on August 23, 1917 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Jeanne (Merritt) and Frank Mayer and the adopted daughter of the late John A. Coulson. In addition to her children, Jeanine Dunbar of Hopkinton, MA and Christopher Einig of Tijeras, NM, Helen leaves her two grandchildren, Kristin Mercurio of Jefferson, MA and Dustin Einig of Portland, OR; son-in-law, Frank Dunbar; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two siblings, Charles Coulson and Ethel Monette. Helen was a resident of Tijeras for 50 plus years and retired from her employment with the City of Albuquerque at the age of 72. Helen was a member of the Prince of Peace Quilting Club until the age of 90. She also spent many special hours with friends at the Edgewood Senior Center until June 2017. Helen's family and friends were privileged to celebrate her 100th birthday at Buena Vista Senior Care last August and would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care she received while there. Helen will always be missed by those who loved her.

A memorial service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Cedar Crest, NM on March 10th, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., with a reception immediately following at the church. The family asks that any donations in memory of Helen be made to Edgewood Senior Center, 114 Quail Trail, Edgewood, NM 87015.
