Jack Stamm, 72, lifelong resident of Santa Fe, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2016 after a struggle with cancer. He is survived by his family: siblings Linda Strong, Craig Stamm, Becky Stamm , Jennifer Stamm, and Leon Matthews; nieces and nephews Kare Williams, Erica Stamm, Lars Strong, Michael Brito-Stamm, Joseph Lewis and Matthew Lewis; also cousins Dr Brad Stamm and Susan Evans.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents Allen Stamm and Roberta Utz Stamm, and his dear friend, Richard Jay.

Jack attended Judson Prep School in Scottsdale Arizona, Menlo Park Prep School California, and graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, where he majored in English. He served in the United States National Guard for five years.

Jack was an innovative and thoughtful real estate developer in Santa Fe and surrounding areas for many years. An informed activist, he avidly supported numerous charitable organizations and foundations including the establishment of the Artist's Emergency Medical Fund of the Santa Fe Community Foundation and Educate New Mexico Inc. He generously contributed to many local charitable organizations - Amigos Bravos, Keep Santa Fe Beautiful, Kitchen Angels, Museum of New Mexico Foundation, Cornerstones Community Partnerships, Rio Grande Foundation, Santa Fe Opera and Cancer Foundation of New Mexico.

A passionate person of diverse interests and endeavors, Jack was particularly drawn to travel, the arts, education, politics, (and women). He was well read, outspoken, opinionated and a champion complainer. These qualities along with his wonderful sense of humor were shared and enjoyed by his many friends. Ultimately, to be blessed with knowing Jack was to be swept up in his enthusiasm and challenged by his informed intellect. He loved big and lived life with gusto, reporting just months before his passing that his life was "a joy".

Jack's life will be celebrated with a memorial to be announced at a later date. Cards can be sent to the family at: PO Box 2512, SF NM 87504.
