James Penn Hughes

Age 59, passed away February 1st, 2016, in Albuquerque, New Mexico after a lengthy struggle with multiple sclerosis. Jim grew up in Deming and was the son of Ray and Lillian Hughes. He had a great sense of humor and many, many friends. Jim enjoyed drawing, music, hiking and sports. He was an All American High School football player and was on the Deming High School state basketball championship team in 1974. Jim was a professional architect and he received a BA in Architecture from the University of New Mexico. He worked for various architecture firms in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Scottsdale, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada, including Dean/Hunt/Kruger & Associates. Jim loved red and green chile and was very generous with everyone. We miss his prankster's smile.
