Janet A. Szuszitzky, 67, succumbed to carcinoma on January 11th, 2016, surrounded by loved-ones. She was born on July 2, 1948 in Ames, IA and was the daughter of the late Hermon Arrasmith and Ruth Sawin. She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Szuszitzky and her two sons, Gilbert and Matthew Szuszitzky. She is also survived by her brothers David and Thomas Arrasmith.

Janet received her Bachelor's degree from Texas Women's University in Denton, TX, and her Master's in deaf education from the University of Northern Colorado. She dedicated her life to working with children who are hearing impaired and to bringing Christ's love through ministry work to federal prisons and poverty stricken areas in Mexico and Honduras.

Through her work with the Santa Fe School for the Deaf, the Callier Center for Communication in Dallas, and the Zuni Pueblo Public School System, Janet has impacted the lives of hundreds of children, bringing the miracle of communication into their lives. Through kindness, joy and music she influenced people everywhere. She and her husband spent hundreds of hours working with the Sewell Rehabilitation Center in Denver.

A Celebration of her life will be held on January 30th at 2:00 pm at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 9315 Candelaria Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Janet's name to the .
