Jeffrey Hobart Obituary
Hobart, Jeffrey Scott

Jeffrey Scott Hobart, 62, of Round Rock, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016 after a brief illness.

Jeff was born July 15, 1954 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Phillip "Pete" and Jo Ann (Logan) Hobart. Over the next few years, Jeff was joined by his beloved brothers Mark and Peter. Growing up, Jeff was blessed with many friendships that would continue throughout his life and bring him much joy over the years. At the age of 15, while attending Berean Baptist Church, Jeff accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. This would be the beginning of a close walk with God and would shape Jeff into the wonderful man we knew and loved.

In December, 1976, Jeff married Delaine Wigington of Borger, Texas. They were blessed with three children, Jeanine, Jeffrey and Joshua. Jeff graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri with a bachelor's degree in theology. He also studied business at Southwest Missouri State. Jeff spent the bulk of his adult life in the restaurant industry from working at his uncle's McDonald's in Springfield to owning his own restaurant, deli and a bakery here in the Austin area. Jeff was an entrepreneur at heart. He always had an idea about how to make something better or a creative new thing to do. Jeff's most recent business venture was to buy a grooming shop. He wasn't a dog groomer, he just loved dogs. That was Jeff. There was nothing he couldn't do if he put his mind to it.

Dearest to Jeff's heart was his work with Divorce Care at his home church and other churches around Texas. Jeff had a special desire to see families repaired and broken hearts healed. Over the years, he had the opportunity to help so many that were struggling and was a blessing to countless families. On March 12, 2005, Jeff married his sweetheart Kristy Russell. In Kristy, Jeff truly found his match. They were blessed with eleven great years together.

In May, 2013, Jeff stepped into his biggest role yet. That of Papa to grandson Clayton. In June of this year Jeff welcomed granddaughter Camille into the family.

Jeff was a big man with a giant heart. He loved his faith, his family, and his friends and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. Jeff is survived by his wife Kristy; daughter Jeanine and husband Brian, Jr. of Amarillo, Texas; son Jeffrey of Round Rock, Texas; son Joshua of Amarillo, Texas; grandson Clayton Henry and granddaughter Camille Henry, both of Amarillo, Texas; brother Mark Hobart of Albuquerque; brother Peter and wife Lisa of Albuquerque; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Services were held in Round Rock, TX.
