Jerome Lou Brawley, age 84, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, formerly of Fresno, California. died suddenly, February 21, 2016.

Jerome was a retired master sergeant of the California Air National Guard, 144th fighter Interception wing, Fresno, California, as a flight line mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Claudie Brawley; brothers, Garland and Ricky Brawley and sisters, Lucille Leach, Leona Christian and Wanda Brawley.

He is survived by his wife, Lavonne of almost 40 years; daughter, Pamela (Tom) Monroe; son, Peter (Cindy); stepdaughter, Claudia May; stepson, Douglas (Terri) May; brother, Marion Brawley; sister, Donna Taylor; step grandsons, Matthew and Benjamin May-Day; and numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Jerome loved to visit his large family and his military family. He loved to go hunting, bowling, and football games. During his military career, Jerome attended the University of Boston, Mass, Chanute University in Illinois and University of Southern California.

Jerome was a member of the Fresno 144th A.N.G. unit placing top winner in October, 1980, William Tell Team. Teams from the U.S. Air Force, National Guard, and Canada competed for Top Gun in Air-to-Air weapons meet sponsored by the U.S.A.F. Tactical Air Command.
