Jerry Ross Obituary
Ross, Jerry "Don"

Jerry "Don" Ross, 81, of Navajo Dam, NM, passed away on February 7, 2016 following a brief illness.

He was born on October 16, 1934 and raised in Flour Bluff, TX.

Don is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his brother, Tommy; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Menard, John Menard and his sister-in-law, Sally Gray. He also leaves behind five children, Hugh, Robin, Dave, Roy and Bob. He had 18 grandchildren, Mark, Michael, Amy, Zach, Dustin, Sara, Chelsea, Brenden, Samantha, Paige, Alex, Gabriel, Rachel, Maxwell, Essance, Jillian, TJ and Frankie. He also had 14 great-grandchildren, Maddox, Mason, Tristan, Katie, Joseph, Thomas, Cross, Christopher, Phillip, Journey, Colton, Aiden, Sophia and Amelia.

Don spent 40 years of service working for the United States, first in the Army and then at the Albuquerque Seismological Laboratory. In his retirement he continued his legacy of service by aiding his community. This was most prominent through his maintenance of the water filtration and distribution plant that still serves the Navajo Dam water district today.

Don's children remember him as a man who knew the Lord and passed that faith on to his children along with his kindness, work ethic, and sense of humor. As a father, he was not a man who needed to use many words; often, all it took was a look.

He also enjoyed riding motorcyles with his brother Tommy. He was an accomplished pilot of both single engines and gliders.

Memorial services were held on February 14, 2016 at Aztec Presbyterian Church in Aztec, NM.
