Jewel Craig-Helvie, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, formerly of Belen, New Mexico, passed away quietly in her sleep on Wednesday, August 6, 2017. Jewel was born at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. She attended school in Belen, New Mexico. She then went on to Highlands University and UNM where she earned an Associate's degree in Elementary Education. She loved working and tutoring children of all ages. She was presently helping in the bookkeeping department at Craig Independent Tire Inc. in Belen.

She is preceded in death by her father, John L. Craig; her maternal grandparents, John L. and Carrie Sullivan; paternal grandparents, Jewell and Mary Craig. She is survived by her husband, Terry Helvie of the family home in Albuquerque; mother, Carolyn Craig of Belen; Father and Mother in-law, Urban and Peggy Helvie; brothers, John R. Craig (J.R.) and wife Kassandra and Cory Dillman and fiancé Michelle Carroll, nephews, Ian and Quincy Hrasky and William Terrel IV; niece, Ripley Hrasky; aunt, Bobbie Ann Salaz; cousins, Jose and Abraham Salaz; and many other cousins on the Craig side and nephews and nieces on the Helvie side of the family.

All services will take place on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Los Chavez. A Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., with a Funeral Service to begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery. There will be a gathering for relative and friends directly following the graveside service at the Fellowship Hall, First Baptist Church of Los Chavez.
